Since the beginning of this year, reproductive health checks have become even more accessible and are carried out as part of medical examination under the compulsory medical insurance policy. The head of the region, Alexey Russkikh, recalled this during the annual report.

Preventive medical examinations of adolescents aged 15-17 cover more than 75% of boys and girls.

Particular attention is paid to planning the birth of a healthy child, including preparation for pregnancy, early medical examination at the antenatal clinic, and examination by specialists.

In addition, the region conducts perinatal screening, allowing for early prenatal diagnosis. Thus, in 2023, almost all pregnant women were covered by high-tech diagnostics. According to the governor, the task now is to decentralize this service and make it more accessible, especially for residents of rural areas. No less important is the role of the perinatal center in saving the lives of newborn babies, including those with extremely low body weight and those born prematurely, reports Media73.
