During a live broadcast on the VKontakte social network, the governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, announced that this year more than 5.5 thousand hectares of forest will be treated for gypsy moths; the corresponding contract has already been concluded. It was previously reported that the treatment would take place in the spring, during a special period of caterpillar development, which would not allow the insects to leave offspring. It is planned to process deciduous and mixed forests of Klepikovsky, Kriushinsky, Solotchinsky, Spassky and Tumsky forestries. Pavel Malkov noted that there are cases of early appearance of caterpillars, but as long as there is no foliage, the caterpillars have no chance of survival.

In addition, in Ryazan, more than 100 hectares will be treated for ticks; treatment will be carried out in all parks. Let us remind you that a million rubles have been allocated for this. Also, 32 reservoirs will be treated from mosquito larvae, which, according to the governor, will also bring tangible benefits.
