Cooperation agreements were signed between the Smolensk diocese and municipalities located on the canonical territory of the diocese

On April 24, 2024, in the Throne Hall of the Smolensk Diocesan Administration, a ceremony was held to sign a cooperation agreement between the Smolensk diocese and municipalities located on the canonical territory of the Smolensk diocese.

The solemn ceremony of signing the agreement was attended by the Governor of the Smolensk Region Vasily Nikolaevich Anokhin, Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh Isidor, Director of the Department for Interaction with Public Associations Pyotr Borisovich Lipatov, Heads and Deputies of the following municipalities:

• Alexander Alexandrovich Novikov, Head of the city of Smolensk,
• Olga Nikolaevna Pavlyuchenkova, Head of the municipal formation “Smolensky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Roman Nikolaevich Zakharov, Head of the municipality “Yartsevsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Sergey Valentinovich Arkhipenkov, Head of the municipal formation “Krasninsky District” of the Smolensk Region,
• Oleg Mikhailovich Smolyakov, Head of the municipal formation “Kardymovsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Boris Viktorovich Petiforov, Head of the municipal formation “Dukhovshchinsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Konstantin Nikolaevich Serenkov, Head of the municipal formation “Dorogobuzhsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Alexander Fedorovich Semenov, Head of the municipal formation “Demidovsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Galina Aleksandrovna Valikova, Head of the municipal formation “Velizhsky district” of the Smolensk region,
• Svetlana Evgenievna Brich, acting Heads of the municipality of the Rudnyansky district of the Smolensk region.

The Governor of the Smolensk Region Vasily Nikolaevich Anokhin and the Head of the Smolensk Metropolis, Metropolitan Isidor of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh, addressed the participants of the solemn event with a welcoming speech.

In continuation of the event, Letters of Gratitude from the Governor of the Smolensk Region were awarded to:

• Hieromonk Tikhon Zhilyakov, resident of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Avraamiev Monastery in Smolensk,
• Archpriest Dmitry Bakakin, rector of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Petrovo,
• Priest Vasily Demchuk, rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Mikulino,
• Priest Anthony Tonkovich, rector of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow”, Yartsevo,
• Priest Yaroslav Fedorov, rector of the church in honor of St. Abraham of Smolensk village. Golynki,
• Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin, economist of the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Smolensk,
• Anna Valerievna Osina, teacher of history and social studies at the Smolensk Orthodox Gymnasium,
• Olga Alekseevna Rakitina, physical education teacher at the Smolensk Orthodox Gymnasium.

At the end of the official ceremony of signing the Agreement in the Smolensk Diocesan Administration, the participants of the ceremony discussed working issues in detail.
