This year, 12 new participants will join the “Night of Museums” event in St. Petersburg. Project curator in the Northern capital Natalia Yablonskaya spoke about this at a press conference, reports 78.ru correspondent.

“It’s a very joyful moment for us that, despite the fact that, it would seem, everyone who wanted to take part has been with us for a long time, we have several interesting new platforms,” she noted.

In particular, in Kronstadt, in addition to the Museum of Naval Glory, an artillery platform is opening.

“From the libraries – the Nota library, the Sovremennik library communication center, children’s library No. 4, the Rzhevskaya library with their incredibly warm, local history, very St. Petersburg program dedicated to the poet Slepushkin,” Yablonskaya listed.

Also added will be the Museum of the Higher School of Folk Arts, the Museum of the University of Veterinary Medicine, the Museum of the History of Money, the modern space “Street Art Storage” in Sevkabel, the Center for Contemporary Art named after. Sergei Kuryokhin and the Apartment Museum of Academician I. P. Pavlov.

In total, more than 130 museums, libraries, exhibition and concert halls in St. Petersburg will take part in the annual “Night of Museums” event dedicated to International Museum Day. The main part of the participating sites will receive guests from 18:00 to 23:00 on May 18, while 29 sites can be visited until 6:00 in the morning on May 19. All museums will be open during sessions.
