The first city patriotic ball among Youth Army members and students of cadet classes was held in Kaluga. The event took place on the basis of school 5.
Girls in evening dresses and crinolines, boys in uniforms and dress uniforms… Couples from all city schools plunged into the atmosphere of past centuries.
Polonaise, polka and his majesty waltz. The organizers combined several dance styles so that schoolchildren could plunge into an integral part of the cultural life of the society of a bygone era.
Olga Mikheeva, chief specialist of the Kaluga Education Department: “We made a historical ball. Those. from the moment of creation to the Great Patriotic War. Those. from the history of the appearance of balls. Such a touching event that unites both children and adults”
The ball was dedicated to the upcoming Victory Day, so among the participants there were many dancers in military uniform. This is very responsible, say Timofey Svirkin and Milana Ryabchenkova from school 7. The couple trained hard for several months. Now, they say, they can easily cope with the triple count of the waltz.
“Everything is quite easy,” says Timofey. “The choreographers did a good job to ensure that everyone, even those who did not dance, could perform the movements that were choreographed.”
Holding patriotic balls makes a significant contribution to ensuring the connection of times and continuity of generations, the organizers are sure. They hope that such events will soon become traditional. And as many participants as possible will join them.
