On the territory of correctional colony number 7 in Omsk there is its own small agricultural complex. Four convicts grow cucumbers and tomatoes here.
In total, there are two greenhouses in the residential area, their total area is three hundred square meters. Agricultural buildings are made of polycarbonate and allow maintaining optimal temperature and humidity for plants, reports the press service of the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Omsk Region.
Modern technologies used in these greenhouses allow harvesting all year round. In 2024, the colony management plans to grow two tons of cucumbers and a ton of tomatoes.
“Grown vegetables diversify the diet of prisoners”said the head of the institution, Alexander Sysenko.
Let us recall that the fate of the church in which icons with images of Nazi supporters were found had previously become known. They want to liquidate it by decision of the Ministry of Justice; a corresponding lawsuit has already been filed in court.
