Quite recently, our flagship, AVTOVAZ, celebrated another birthday of its first car. Despite all the difficulties, the plant is doing well. The governor of the Samara region spoke about this in the “Main Topic” program.
On March 12, 2024, for example, the 31 millionth car rolled off the first line of AVTOVAZ’s main assembly line—the LADA Vesta sedan in a new modification with an automatic transmission. This was evidence of the successful development of the enterprise with the direct support of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Government of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the Samara region.
“Literally two years ago it was very difficult, when our country as a whole and our Samara region, leading enterprises faced unprecedented, unfair economic sanctions, which often openly say that this is an economic war against our Motherland, and therefore against each of us, – Dmitry Azarov recalled. — Of course, it was very difficult, but the team rallied in the most difficult times. Then experts from some foreign countries in the automotive industry said that AVTOVAZ would not launch until the end of 2023. But already in 2022, the conveyor started working again in the shortest possible time.”

Over the next three years, it is planned to launch four fundamentally new models. The cargo-passenger LARGUS, production of which will start in the second quarter of this year at the plant in Izhevsk. Business class sedan LADA AURA, production of which starts in September. Another new product, LADA ISKRA, will be launched next year.
The company is growing and developing: the plant is already operating in St. Petersburg, partner enterprises are in the Chechen Republic and Azerbaijan, and it is planned to launch production of new cars soon. More details in our story.
