The delicate skin in the armpits, groin area, anal fold and neck are the most favorite places for ticks on the human body. Infectious disease doctor Vladimir Neronov reported this, writes RIAMO.

According to the doctor, tick suction occurs gradually: the female tick sometimes “travels” through the host’s body for several hours in search of the safest zone. Having found a tender area, with the help of her chelicerae, the female immerses her head in the capillary “lake” of blood and, as it were, “dives” to obtain the “delicacy” that is vital for her offspring.

“To complete the life cycle, the female tick must receive a portion of blood; for these purposes, she needs a “host,” on which she can quietly receive the “portion” she needs within 2 to 7 days,” said the infectious disease specialist.

To prevent ticks from getting on the body, repellents should be used to treat exposed parts of the body in places where they potentially accumulate, and clothing should be worn as closed as possible. Particular attention should be paid to children. Their skin is delicate and more vulnerable, and they also run more actively on the grass, and their chances of getting a tick are many times greater.
