Getting enough sleep, meditative practices and interesting plans for the May long weekend will help you cope with the six-day work week that will last until April 27. Psychiatrist-psychotherapist, psychologist Alexey Vilkov spoke about this, writes “Evening Moscow”.

According to him, first of all, it is important to plan the working day in order to solve problems gradually. It is also necessary to take periodic breaks at work to avoid overwork. After a working day, you need to fully relax; a variety of activities are suitable for this: evening walks in nature or near the house, pleasant communication with friends and loved ones, reading light books and listening to music, watching movies.

“Relaxation and self-regulation techniques, for example, muscle relaxation and meditative practices, are also very effective. These methods are good for relieving fatigue, anxiety, and stress,” Vilkov explained.

He noted that it is useful to limit the use of gadgets and spend less time on the phone, especially before bed. You should go to bed at the same time every day to get enough sleep within 6-8 hours.

In addition, you need to prepare in advance for the holiday weekend after a long work week. For example, come up with events that you want to go to in order to “thank yourself” for your hard work, the specialist emphasized.

“Looking forward to an effective and bright weekend will help you better cope with the rigors of a long work week. The brain will understand that you need to work a little, and then there will be a good reward. This will give even more motivation to effectively get through this long work week,” added Vilkov.
