A 37-year-old resident of the village of Sobchakovo contacted the police and reported that his bicycle, which he had left at the entrance to his house, had gone missing. He secured his bike with a parking cable, but the thief broke the lock.
The police found out that the owner of the bicycle had parked it several days ago. After interviewing local residents, criminal investigation operatives learned that on the day the bicycle went missing, a 29-year-old man showed up in the village. He lived in the village with relatives, but began to abuse alcohol and the relationship went wrong. The man left for Ryazan. On the day of the theft, he returned to the village and wanted to stay with his relatives, but they did not let him into the house. The man was wandering around the streets of the village and asking passersby to borrow money.
Police officers suggested that the man might have stolen a bicycle. The man was found and his involvement in the theft was established. The stolen goods were recovered. The attacker was detained.
According to preliminary information, the unlucky guest, having received a turn away from his relatives, decided to return to Ryazan, but he had no money. He noticed a bicycle chained at the entrance and used a brick to break the lock on the cable. He hid the bike in the bushes on the outskirts of the village and planned to sell it in a neighboring village, but did not have time.
According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the issue of initiating a criminal case against the attacker under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison, is being decided.
