A press conference dedicated to the “Victory Dictation” was held at the Rossiya Segodnya MIA

On April 24, 2024, a press conference dedicated to the International Patriotic Historical and Educational Action of the United Russia Party “Victory Dictation” was held at the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya MIA.

Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin took part in the event:

“Over the past 6 years, this action has received very serious development, turning from an interesting public initiative into a massive and truly popular educational project. The wonderful exhibition that opened today on Gogolevsky Boulevard reminds us of this. The format of the “Victory Dictation” is continuously being improved, but its goal remains unchanged – to establish the historical truth, to form among our citizens a solid and deep knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War. This year, the cross-cutting themes of the Dictation will be the anniversaries of the liberation of previously occupied territories by the Red Army and the entry of the Red Army to the borders of the Soviet Union, the liberation of Crimea and Sevastopol, the beginning of the brilliant Operation Bagration and, of course, the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade ”

Sergei Evgenievich also emphasized the particularly important educational role of the action in modern conditions, when historical facts are often replaced by falsifications:

“I will add to this that today a real hybrid aggression has been unleashed against Russia by the greedy, evil, Russophobic political forces of a group of Western states. They are trying to turn history, the events of past years, into a real battlefield. Under their blows are long-proven truths confirmed by irrefutable facts: from the historical, linguistic, cultural unity of the Old Russian state to the decisive role of the Red Army and the Soviet Union in the victory over Nazi Germany. In this regard, I believe that the “Victory Dictation” is not just a massive historical and educational project, but an event very important for the socio-political life of our state and society.”

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein spoke about the special preferences that the winners of the “Victory Dictation” will receive:

“Dictation finalists, that is, people who answered all 25 questions correctly within the given time, receive preferences when entering universities. This is very relevant and useful for our applicants. The winners of the regional stages are awarded with valuable gifts, and the 20 federal winners—those who answered all 25 questions the fastest and correctly—receive an invitation to the Victory Parade on May 9 in Moscow.”

In turn, co-chairman of the Russian Historical Society, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky said that the action was supported by a large number of foreign branches of Russian universities:

“A significant number of branches of Russian universities abroad will host the Victory Dictation. These are about 30 branches, in particular, countries such as Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Of course, there this work is carried out in close connection with representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and with “Russian Houses” <...> I am sure that many of the foreign students studying in Russia will want to test their knowledge. Moreover, most of them are students from countries that were republics of the Soviet Union during the war. Their great-grandfathers also participated in the Great Patriotic War.”

In 2024, the “Victory Dictation” will be held for the sixth time and will take place on April 26. More than 27 thousand sites have been organized. Almost 200 of them are located in 60 countries.
