The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, removed Timur Ivanov from the post of deputy minister, TASS reports.

“By order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Timur Ivanov was removed from the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation in the federal state civil service,” the message says.

Earlier it was reported that Timur Ivanov was charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. The investigation believes that Timur Ivanov entered into a criminal conspiracy with third parties; the case is related to contracting and subcontracting work for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.

By a decision of the Basmanny Court, a preventive measure was chosen against the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov in the form of detention for a period of two months, until June 23, 2024.
