On April 24, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, reported to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin about the flood situation in three regions of the Volga and Ural Federal Districts.

In the cities of Orsk and Orenburg, the water level dropped below the dangerous level. In the village of Ilek there is also a decrease. Data that comes from gauging stations, combined with information about the influx of water into the Iriklinskoye reservoir, as well as the discharges produced, allow us to say that the flood wave on the Ural River passed the Orenburg region“, the Minister noted.

Now in 58 settlements of the region and 43 SNT, more than 12 thousand residential buildings, almost 20 thousand household plots and 16 low-water bridges remain flooded. There are 625 people in 16 temporary accommodation centers, including 100 children.

As the head of the department emphasized, the combined group of units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the territorial subsystem of the RSChS of the Orenburg region, as well as forces arriving to help from other regions, is fully focused on eliminating the consequences of the emergency, restoring normal living conditions of the population and helping the victims. Comprehensive emergency teams are working in all areas affected by flooding. Water is being pumped out, garbage is removed and the area is disinfected. Evaluation commissions work according to a schedule, which is updated daily and communicated to the population. The regional government makes payments of material assistance to victims: more than 400 thousand applications were submitted, more than 46 thousand people received financial assistance. In total, 2,582 people and 618 pieces of equipment were involved in responding and eliminating the consequences, including 203 people and 65 pieces of equipment from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In the Kurgan region, the flood wave has passed the city of Kurgan and is approaching the border with the Tyumen region. “Here, thanks to pre-planned and implemented preventive measures, catastrophic consequences were avoided. More than 2 thousand residential and almost 3.5 thousand country houses, over 6 thousand personal plots, 6 low-water bridges and 18 sections of roads remain flooded in 34 settlements and 110 SNT. There are 676 people in 12 temporary accommodation centers, including 120 children.“, reported Alexander Kurenkov.

The government of the Kurgan region has organized work on payments of financial assistance. Almost 15 thousand applications were submitted, more than 1.5 thousand people received financial assistance. 4,754 people and 1,127 pieces of equipment were involved in the response and liquidation of the consequences, including 1,083 people and 190 pieces of equipment from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A flood wave along the Ishim River in the Tyumen region is approaching the village of Abatskoye. In 20 settlements, 155 residential and more than 500 country houses, more than 2,700 household plots, 13 low-water bridges and 17 sections of roads remain flooded. There are 506 people in 26 temporary detention centers, including 186 children. More than 320 applications for financial assistance were submitted, and 87 families received payments. 3,490 people and 746 pieces of equipment were involved, including 683 people and 65 pieces of equipment from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
