They started planting viola in Moscow. In total, it is planned to plant more than 4.6 million seedlings. Soon the plant will appear on the streets, parks and squares of the city. This was reported by the press service of the capital’s Municipal Economy Committee.
“With the establishment of stable positive air temperatures, work began on planting viola; traditionally it appears first in flower beds, as it can withstand frosts down to minus three degrees. It is planned to plant more than 4.6 million seedlings that will decorate streets, squares, parks, squares, courtyards, areas along roads and outbound highways,” said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov.
In city greenhouses, the preparation of flower seedlings is now in full swing. When growing plants, modern technologies are used that make it possible to create a special microclimate. Thus, the plants turn out strong and healthy.
Technologies used by capital specialists:
— automated sowing complex;
— light supply, supplementary lighting and fogging systems;
– drip irrigation.
In addition, the seedlings are specially hardened so that the plants feel comfortable in different weather conditions. And thanks to stage-by-stage planting, flowers will delight city residents until late autumn.
As part of the beautification month, which began in Moscow on April 1, the capital’s flower beds were prepared for the new season. They were cleared of debris and wood chips, the soil was loosened and fertilizer was applied.
