“The holidays will take place no matter what,” the head of the region noted. – Already on the first of May, we, without a doubt, plan to celebrate Workers’ Solidarity Day.

In 2024, for the celebration of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a program was prepared in the region, which will begin at the end of April and end with the end of the May long weekend.

On April 26, the Samara region will join the international historical project “Victory Dictation” (16+). In 2023, more than 64 thousand Samara residents tested their knowledge about the events of the Second World War. This year, the tasks will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad, the entry of Soviet troops onto the borders of the USSR (one of the key stages of the liberation mission of the Red Army), the anniversaries of front-line writers, as well as other memorable dates.

The International Anti-Fascist Forum “Guitars in Order!” is planned from May 2 to 5. (16+), which will bring together cultural representatives and public figures from around the world. The program includes concerts in municipalities, military hospitals and sanatoriums. Artists from China, Italy, Iran, Montenegro, Colombia and the UK will take part in them. A business part is also expected – an international scientific conference and a round table with invited historians, political scientists and public figures.

– Last year, for the first time in the modern history of the world, we held an anti-fascist festival in the Samara region. For our country and the international community, this became a very noticeable event, because it is Russia that opposes Nazism,” the head of the region emphasized. – Our country lost 27 million people due to Nazism, and today we will not let it raise its head. Our warriors are resisting just this.

From May 7 to 9, the exhibition “Without a Statute of Limitations” (16+) will be held on Glory Square in Samara. Archival documents – evidence of Nazi crimes against civilians during the Great Patriotic War – were made public by activists of the Samara search party. Later, the exhibition will be placed in some higher educational institutions of the regional capital.

On May 9, the Khudozhestvenny cinema will host open screenings of films as part of the II International Documentary Film Festival “Time of Heroes” (12+). They are dedicated to the participants of the Northern Military District and residents of the liberated territories.

Traditionally, the key event is the Victory Parade. It will take place in several cities of Russia, including Samara, on May 9. Starts at 10:00 on Kuibyshev Square.

More than 20 parade units and about 30 units of military equipment will take part in the event. The ceremonial passage will be opened by the legendary T-34 tank. Soviet soldiers fought on them until 1943. Also, historical lorries, ZISs, and jeeps will pass through the square. Many of them still show damage from bullets and shells. The equipment will be operated by enthusiasts of military-patriotic clubs of the Samara region, who restored rarities with their own hands, detail by piece.

In addition to the main program, the theaters will feature productions dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. At the Philharmonic there is a patriotic project “Let’s Stand Up for the Fatherland” (12+), and at the historical multimedia park “Russia – My History” there is an exhibition “Memory of Generations” (12+).

Also, the “Victory Bus” will travel along the streets of Samara throughout May. Anyone can take part in the promotion (0+).
