Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu removed the arrested Deputy Minister Timur Ivanov from his post. TASS reported this on Wednesday, April 24, citing its source.
“By order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Timur Ivanov was removed from his position,” the agency quotes its interlocutor.
The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov for two months. On the evening of April 23, he was charged with committing a crime under part 6 Article 290 Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale”).
The investigation believes that Ivanov entered into a criminal conspiracy with third parties, teaming up with them in advance to commit a crime by an organized group. This was done to receive a particularly large bribe in the form of providing services of a property nature during contracting and subcontracting work for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
