In St. Petersburg, the cost of a basket of socially significant goods was 3,357 rubles. Prices for milk, rice, vermicelli, and onions are falling. There is an increase in prices for millet, beef, and buckwheat. This was reported by the press service of the city government.

The consumer price index for goods and services in February 2024 was 101.6% compared to December 2023, in March 2024 – 102.2% compared to December 2023.

The situation on the labor market in the Northern capital remains stable. The unemployment rate according to the ILO methodology is 1.5%. Since the beginning of 2024, the employment service has employed 11,146 people. The city has 9,879 registered unemployed people and 55,514 open vacancies.

The shortages are greatest in the areas of manufacturing, education, trade, health and social services, and construction.
