Lenin’s great-niece visited Ulyanovsk on his 154th birthday / 73online.ru

April 22 marked the 154th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. On this day, the great-granddaughter of Dmitry Ilyich Ulyanov and the great-niece of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Elena Ulyanova, visited the State Archive of the Ulyanovsk Region.

The guest of honor was shown the birth certificates of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Dmitry and Olga Ulyanov, documents about their studies, the birth certificate of Ilya Nikolaevich Ulyanov, and then took a tour of the exhibition “The Age of Pushkin”.

— I am glad to be present at such a solemn event – the birthday of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin on April 22 in my historical homeland in the city of Ulyanovsk. I would like to thank the archive staff for preserving the memory of such a great man, with whom I am very proud to be related. Seeing with your own eyes the original documents associated with our family is worth a lot. Thanks for your hard work! I thank archivist Anton Shabalkin for an excellent historical excursion. We had a busy program, we visited all Lenin’s places, I feel the warmest feelings and unforgettable sensations,” said Elena Ulyanova.
