Deputies of the regional Duma held a visiting meeting on the issue of the quality of medical care for patients with oncology. A short tour of the new surgical building of the oncology hospital had not even begun. Deputies immediately bombarded doctors and the regional Ministry of Health with questions. For example, will patients from other areas stand in line here?

-Before arriving for hospitalization, they will send you a complete package of documents, so that suddenly you and I do not find the wrong or wrong document here and send it back. From what date will this be organized?
-It has already begun. And this week we held about 5-7 such consultations.
– You need to have all the documents for the day.

Well, if necessary, the head physician promises, new tests will be carried out promptly and will not interfere with hospitalization. The deputies also clarified whether there are any problems with staffing at the hospital.

Pavel Nesterov, chief physician of the Yaroslavl Regional Oncology Hospital:
– We are fully staffed, there is a certain shortage of nursing staff, but we are taking all the necessary measures, and I think that the small shortage of nurses that we have, we will cover it this year.

Doctors showed the deputies modern equipment, diagnostic and operating departments. The range of help here is huge.

Mikhail Osipov, Chairman of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma Committee on Health:
– Special screening programs have been implemented here, which have never existed before. For which our oncologists have been fighting for a long time. This is a screening program for colorectal cancer, breast disease and cervical cancer.

This attention of deputies to the new building is caused by the upcoming reorganization of the Rybinsk Oncology Service. At the same time, the regional hospital does not foresee an influx of patients.

Pavel Nesterov, chief physician of the Yaroslavl Regional Oncology Hospital:
– Because historically in the oncology department of the city of Rybinsk no more than 250-280 operations were performed per year. Half of which are skin surgeries. Which can easily be done as part of outpatient oncology care, which will continue to be done in Rybinsk.

So-called minor operations, even in Yaroslavl, are now carried out at regular clinics, the regional Ministry of Health notes. And therefore they will continue to be held in Rybinsk.

Sergei Lugansky, Minister of Health of the Yaroslavl Region:
– They will also be done in a clinic, and not in a 24-hour hospital. Chemotherapy care, which is provided today both in a hospital setting and in a day hospital setting, will be provided in full in a day hospital setting in the city of Rybinsk, which we will increase in the number of beds.

The Regional Duma Committee on Health also plans to visit the Rybinsk oncology department in June. This way, deputies will receive all the information about the state of affairs and formulate a decision that takes into account the interests of the residents of Rybinsk.
