Music salon “Visiting Princess Volkonskaya”

On April 25, 2024, the next “Theater Thursday” will take place at the Volkonsky House-Museum.

This month, the museum decided to invite everyone not to a performance, but to one of the most beautiful programs – the music salon “Visiting Princess Volkonskaya.”

Princess Maria Nikolaevna Volkonskaya, according to contemporaries, managed to make her home the main center of Irkutsk public life. She was the soul of the literary, musical and theatrical evenings that she organized in her home.

Famous touring musicians performed here, and the owner of the house herself played the piano and sang beautifully. Leading artists of Irkutsk will perform the favorite music of the Volkonsky family and their friends. And, of course, a unique musical instrument that belonged to M.N. will sound.
