On April 24, Smolensk police officers, checking previously received operational information, identified a workshop for the production of salted and smoked fish in the Zadneprovsky district of the city of Smolensk.

An individual entrepreneur bought frozen fish, defrosted it, and then salted and smoked it. Production was carried out in unsanitary conditions; there were no documents or certificates.

They sold finished products directly in the workshop, and also supplied them to one of the specialized fish stores in Smolensk.

Police officers drew up an administrative protocol regarding the conduct of business activities without state registration or without special permission (license).

“In addition, materials have been collected for transfer to the regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor in order to bring the persons who organized the production to administrative responsibility. The production of the workshop (about 170 kg of fish) was confiscated and transferred for safekeeping,” – noted in the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Smolensk region.
