“Striving for Success” is the name of the career guidance platform, the work of which started on the basis of Yaroslavl Technical University. Its participants included high school students from 15 schools in the regional center. The organizer is the Department of Education of the City Hall. The guys were asked to split into teams to answer questions related to the mechanical engineering industry in our region. Many schoolchildren are already thinking about choosing a profession, including working at enterprises in the Yaroslavl region.
Georgy Nikiforov, student of Lyceum No. 86:
“I would like to know more about the polytechnic, about the enterprises of our city. Get your bearings. I think that my future profession may be related to mechanical engineering, including our region.”
Dmitry Kolesnikov, student of school No. 39:
“I would like to delve more into shipbuilding. Build some kind of barge that will transport as many goods as possible.”
Before this, schoolchildren studied the history of Yaroslavl enterprises and became acquainted with the products produced. The team that gave the most correct answers was rewarded. The winning children will be able to visit the Quantorium children’s technology park. Representatives of the university and Yaroslavl enterprises assessed the students’ knowledge.
Elena Titova, chief specialist of the department of additional education and educational work of the Department of Education of the Yaroslavl City Hall:
“Indeed, 10th graders are practically a graduate who will be faced with the choice of a profession and, in order to give a wide range of choices an idea about their future profession, such career guidance events exist.”
