April 24. Residents of Magadan can get two years for stealing a “smart” speaker from an electronics store on Dzerzhinsky Street, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Magadan Region told MagadanMedia.

It is established that the incident occurred in June last year. A 21-year-old and a 27-year-old local resident jointly stole a smart speaker. The damage amounted to over 11 thousand rubles. Subsequently, the girls resold the stolen property.

The investigator opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). The maximum sanction is imprisonment for up to five years.

A total of 94 incidents and crimes were reported over the past 24 hours. Nine people were taken to duty stations for various offenses.
