Former accountant of Volgograd technical school accused of stealing 47 million rubles

In the Volgograd region, the prosecutor’s office sent to court a criminal case of fraud in the amount of more than 47 million rubles.

An indictment was issued against a former accountant of the Volgograd Medical-Ecological College. She is accused of fraud on an especially large scale using her official position. A criminal case was initiated based on an inspection by the Svetloyarsky District Prosecutor’s Office.

The 54-year-old accountant executed fictitious payment orders and put electronic signatures of the director and the chief executive without their knowledge on the documents. And she illegally transferred money to her son and daughter in the form of wages, bonuses and benefits. However, her relatives did not work at the institution.

So the woman stole more than 47 million rubles. She admitted her guilt and is now under house arrest. Her real estate and bank accounts, containing more than 17.5 million rubles, have been seized. The maximum penalty for such fraud is imprisonment for up to 10 years.
