Over tea, the parliamentarian talked with the veteran about the trials that befell the generation that survived the war with the Nazis.

Anatoly Afanasyevich was drafted into the army in 1942, immediately after school. For valiant service he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree, medals for the defense of Moscow and for the defense of the Soviet Arctic. After the war, he remained to serve in the missile forces and retired only in 1964 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He worked at the Khimvolokno plant in Engels for 25 years and received the title of labor veteran.

“Visiting our heroes with flowers and gifts on the eve of Victory Day is a good tradition, but when the holiday also intersects with such a significant anniversary, the emotions are a hundred times greater! I sincerely admire the strength of character and good spirits of a person who has a whole century behind him,” Stiforova emphasized, wishing Anatoly Afanasyevich excellent mood and good health.
