TGASU students developed design projects for the playground at Fakel

The Center for the Development of the Urban Environment held an architectural hackathon for students of the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TGASU); three teams developed design projects for a playground on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, a representative of the university’s press service told RIA Tomsk on Wednesday.

“From April 19 to 23, three participating teams worked for four days to create design projects for a children’s playground located on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, 120. The playground was built in 2011 and occupies 8,796 square meters. Meetings are held next to the given territory student teams of Tomsk and city events,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

According to him, the participants had to tie the project to the existing territory, take into account age and functional zones, think over a system of landscaping and lighting, use small architectural forms and integrate the site into the existing pedestrian and promenade network.

“According to the results of the presentations, the design project of team No. 3 under the sonorous name “Firs-Needles” was named the best. The curator is the architect of the Center for the Development of the Urban Environment of the Tomsk Region, Daniil Shkolny. In the project, the participants focused on the nature of their native land,” added the press representative. service, clarifying that the project includes play complexes and small architectural forms reminiscent of moose and cedar cones.

He also added that another team, “Rabbit Hole,” proposed installing tables with backgammon and chess on the site, and using cereals and clover for landscaping. Members of the “Everyone Has Their Own Element” team proposed dividing the site into thematic age zones.

“The most active participants in the hackathon were awarded special gifts by the head of the Center for the Development of the Urban Environment of the Tomsk Region, Alexey Filimonov.
