In Kaliningrad, they plan to demolish 60 unsafe houses in two years. In their place, green areas and social facilities should appear, head of administration Elena Dyatlova told Klops after an operational meeting on Wednesday, April 24.
“In the master plan, we are repainting these territories into green zones. We do not put them into circulation by putting them up for auction for housing construction. For now, I am categorically opposed to putting this up for subsequent housing construction,” Dyatlova said.
She cited Stanochnaya Street as an example. A small park is planned on the site of the demolished house No. 2-8.
In some cases, plots can also be used for the needs of a city or region. There will probably be sites for collecting municipal solid waste (MSW), and, if space allows, social facilities.
“On the same Northern Mountain it is very difficult for us to place sites for the collection and accumulation of MSW. There are no social facilities, and we must have reserved places where they will appear in a year, two, three, four or five. This is a common problem for the entire city,” the city manager noted.
The administration is currently engaged in the resettlement of 33 houses. 12 have already been demolished; residents of 15 have moved out and the buildings are awaiting dismantling.
In total, in 2024, the Kaliningrad administration will resettle 369 people from emergency housing.
