The governor’s benefit program for SVO participants combines mechanisms of psychological and medical assistance, social support for families, employment, education and much more, the media learned44.
Organizing student employment during the day is one such support measure. The benefit applies to all children whose fathers are now on the front line. So, for primary school students this could be a group of temporary stays for children, and for grades 5-6 – extracurricular activities. The issue of attending an after-school program is resolved at the request of parents at the level of the educational institution.
With one parent stationed in a war zone and the other working full-time, such support measures are essential to meet the needs of a modern family.
Alexander Polyakov, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Kostroma Region:
“This is very important help for a family that has schoolchildren. Extended day groups in educational institutions are both paid and free. For children from those families in which the fathers are currently in the special operation zone, enrollment in extended day groups is always a priority in front of other schoolchildren and, what’s important, it’s always free for them.”
