At a meeting of the temporary commission for monitoring road activities in the region, deputies of the Legislative Assembly discussed with regional ministries, representatives of the city administration and contractors the issues of maintaining the road network and carrying out major repairs of tram tracks in Chelyabinsk, monitoring the maintenance of highways.
“This year, due to intense snowfalls, the problem of shortage of equipment has become acute. Regional parliamentarians inspected snow removal in different areas of the city, summed up the results and prepared proposals and comments for contractors. They must prepare equipment for the winter period in advance and perform all functionality in full, – commented the chairman of the committee on construction policy and housing and communal services Alexey Denisenko. “Deputies will also draw up a summer schedule of visits to monitor the quality and timing of road repairs in their constituencies.”
Deputies of the Legislative Assembly recommended that the city administration ensure unhindered movement of vehicles and pedestrians year-round and provide new areas for snow collection. Deputy Head of the City of Chelyabinsk Andrey Ksenzov told parliamentarians that in Chelyabinsk three companies are responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of roads: Oycumena JSC, ElektroStroy LLC and Soyuz Avtodor LLC. Work is now underway to prepare for the new road season.
Traditionally, in the spring and summer, deputies – members of the temporary commission will visit road repair sites. Inspection visits, together with the regional Ministry of Roads and Transport, will also be organized for roads under warranty maintenance.
Regional parliamentarians with local governments and residents of their constituencies will prepare proposals for priority road construction projects for the coming years.
In addition, members of the temporary commission got acquainted with the results of major repairs on tram tracks in the Chelyabinsk agglomeration. Over three years, 27 projects were completed. This year it is planned to overhaul 10 km of tram tracks.
Members of the temporary commission will monitor the maintenance of tram tracks, landing areas and enclosing structures.
