Zenit head coach Sergei Semak, after the defeat from Rubin, said that he did not understand many of the referee’s actions, but this does not affect the quality of the blue-white-blue game.
On Wednesday, Zenit lost at home to Rubin (0:2) in the match of the postponed 21st round of the WORLD RPL. The main referee of the meeting was Artem Chistyakov.
— It’s a tough game, it wasn’t easy for us. In the first half we had the advantage, but in the second half we allowed the opponent to score. We ourselves had an advantage, but we were unable to convert it into scoring chances.
— Could the referee influence the constant stoppages of the match?
— The referee is on the field so that the spirit of the sport matches. If the players collide with their heads, they must be stopped. And if the player himself fell and lies… Many actions were incomprehensible. But a referee is a referee, and our game is our game,” a Match TV correspondent reports Semak’s words.
After 25 rounds, Zenit scored 50 points and ranks first in the RPL WORLD table. In the match of the 26th round, Semak’s team will play away against Dynamo on Sunday.
