In St. Petersburg, the cost of a basket of socially significant goods was 3,357 rubles. Prices for milk, rice, vermicelli, and onions are falling. At the same time, prices for millet, beef, and buckwheat have increased, the press service of the city government said.
It is reported that in February 2024, the consumer price index for goods and services amounted to 101.6% compared to December last year, and in March this year – 102.2% compared to December 2023.
The situation on the labor market in the city also remains stable. The unemployment rate according to the ILO methodology is 1.5%. The employment service has already employed 11.1 thousand people this year. In total, 9.8 thousand unemployed are registered in St. Petersburg.
Personnel shortages exist in the areas of manufacturing, education, trade, health and social services, and construction. There are currently 55,514 open vacancies on the market.
