In the Tyumen region, representatives of the Cossack community will join the “Immortal Regiment” action on horseback. To honor the memory of their ancestors who fought for victory in the Great Patriotic War, participants will put on a soldier’s uniform and walk through municipalities with portraits of front-line heroes and home front workers.
The details were told by the co-chairman of the central headquarters of the public civil-patriotic movement “Immortal Regiment of Russia” Gennady Ivanov at a press conference dedicated to the action.
– We already had a similar experience; on one of the May 9 celebrations, the “Immortal Cavalry” took place. But then the weather was not very comfortable for horses: wind, rain. Today I called our atamans and offered to drive through our streets. Not necessarily May 9, maybe on other days. You need permission from the authorities. Some municipalities have already given a positive answer, for example, in Nizhnyaya Tavda and Zavodoukovsk, – shared Gennady Ivanov.
He noted that an important feature of the “Immortal Regiment” campaign is photographs. Therefore, Cossacks on horseback will not just ride nearby. They will definitely take photographs with citizens. Thus, the heroic ancestors will continue to remain in people’s memory.
– The event will give the most joy to the children. Some of them have never even seen a horse up close, maybe only in zoos. And then she passed by. Yes, even the snorting of a horse – even that would be unusual for them, – added the author of the patriotic action.
