Representatives of the Gvardiya security agency in Novosibirsk spoke about the fashion for onigiri rice sandwiches. They are inexpensive, but children keep trying to sneak the goods past the cash register.

“At 10:48, two girls were detained in a store in the Zaeltsovsky district. They tried to smuggle in onigiri rice sandwiches without paying. The stolen goods were confiscated from them, and the thieves were handed over to their mothers,” commented agency representative Natalya Fedorova. On the same day, another fan of Japanese cuisine also got burned by eating pies. In addition to onigiri, a 14-year-old girl stole deodorant and a shaving kit from a store in the Oktyabrsky district. They took pity on the child and sent him home. Let us remind you that “onigiri” is a Japanese dish consisting of rice and various fillings. According to chef Oleg Shin, the popularity of onigiri can be explained by the fact that they are very filling. Each serving contains a decent amount of rice. In addition, onigiri is convenient to eat on the go. It’s easy to prepare “onigiri”: inside you can find yesterday’s salad, boiled meat from soup, and leftover cheese. Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor advise not to get carried away with such dishes: it is very easy to get poisoned by them.
