Firefighting continues in Ulyanovsk

Of the planned 107 kilometers of fire-fighting mineralized strips, 71 kilometers have been equipped.

On April 23, the villages of Karlinskoye and Lugovoe were plowed; the width of the strips was measured by inspectors from the civil protection department, district administrations and State Fire Supervision.

“Today the plowing will continue around Laishevka, Kamenka, Protopopovka. This work is not as simple as it seems. The soil in some places still retains a significant supply of moisture after the snow melts, tractors get stuck. Under special control are areas in the lowlands near the village of Pogreby, the villages of Barataevka and Podgornaya Kamenka,” said the head of Ulyanovsk, Alexander Boldakin.
