According to the university press service, the TPU School of Natural Resources Engineering together with TomskNIPIneft JSC will hold a quest game called “Oil Journey: from the deposit to the gas station.” Participants in the event will be students in grades 10-11 from Tomsk schools.
– After registration, participants will be randomly assigned to six teams. They have to go through task points to find out what route the oil takes from the deposit to the gas station. With the participation of TomskNIPIneft specialists, schoolchildren will listen to short theoretical lectures and complete practical tasks using real laboratory equipment, for example, try their hand at core research, – said Elena Vershkova, senior lecturer at the oil and gas department.
According to her, at one point, schoolchildren will look for a leak in a pipeline using a VR complex, and at another, they will learn a lot of interesting things about power system models and will be able to conduct experiments.
