After a long working week, Yaroslavl residents will rest for four whole days. Then another series of days off will follow. There are many interesting events prepared in the region. The Government of the Yaroslavl region spoke about them.
“Recreation in the region during the May long weekend is traditionally in great demand,” noted Olga Gabueva, Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – This is facilitated by the proximity to the capital region, developed infrastructure, many interesting tourist sites and experience programs. And the new collective accommodation facilities introduced in 2023 and 2024, including 4- and 5-star hotels with 500 rooms, will make holidays on Yaroslavl land even more comfortable.
In Yaroslavl Guests will enjoy public and private museums, walks along the Volzhskaya and Kotoroslnaya embankments, tasting sets and various master classes have been prepared, largely aimed at independent tourists, in accordance with the trends of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. Families with children are invited to the zoo, dolphinarium, water park, museums, including Emalis and the Golden Ring Show Layout, the Gingerbread House workshop and other interesting attractions.
As part of the “Lost” project, a new exciting program has been developed around the capital of the Golden Ring in the format of a theatrical quest walk. Participants must complete a series of tasks, receiving clues and learning interesting facts about the city. Walks are planned for May 4 and 11.
In Rybinsk Sightseeing tours have been prepared for guests including an ascent to the bell tower of the Transfiguration Cathedral and a visit to the oil mill, inspection of the Mologa model, the home of the Sigson family, the exhibition of the “Soviet Era” museum and other programs. Tours to historical places are offered in Borisoglebsky district. Vivid emotions will be evoked by a visit to the ancient monastery-fortress standing in the center of the village – the Boriso-Glebsky Monastery on Ustye, founded in 1363 during the reign of Dmitry Donskoy. The most revered relic of the monastery is a copy of the Lydda (Roman) Icon of the Mother of God, brought to the monastery from Moscow on February 9, 1588 by the builder Varlaam.
There are holy springs in the area: the well of Irinarch the Recluse in the village of Kondakovo, a spring in the village of Krasnovo. Those interested will be offered a walk to the source of the Holy Mother of God, popular among local residents, on the southern outskirts of Borisoglebsky. The program for visiting these places also includes an excursion to the house-museum of the peasant Elkin and the evening musical program “Apple Pie”.
Ecotourism lovers can visit a farm in the village of Bolshaya Voehta during the May holidays in Gavrilov-Yamsky district, where there are more than a thousand dairy sheep. The program includes a walk around the farm, participation in feeding, milking or grooming animals, fishing in the pond, and tasting of fresh locally produced products. Those interested can take part in master classes on cheese making.
In Gavrilov-Yam An immersive excursion with the merchant of the first guild A. Lokalov has been prepared, and the Coachman Museum is waiting for interactive programs “Meeting in the coachman’s way,” “Secrets of the coachman’s hut,” “Meet May Day in the coachman’s way!”

In addition, a “Restless Soul” walk along the Volzhskaya Embankment together with an unusual hero, and an interactive program “Differences and Delicacies” have been prepared for guests.
In Nekrasovsky district you can attend the “Spring Jazz” musical evening in Vyatskoye, take part in festive races in the sanatoriums “Zolotoy Kolos” and “Malye Soli”.
