Oryol deputy said that the city’s problems will not be solved while Parakhin holds the post of mayor

Oryol deputy Sergei Elesin asked Mayor Parakhin a number of uncomfortable questions. One of them concerned the expensive renovation of the office.

The deputy asked, as part of the global reduction in expenditures, whether the renovation of the mayor’s office was a priority need or whether extra-budgetary funds were used for this.

“Today in the city of Orel we are carrying out major renovations, repairs in budgetary institutions worth hundreds of millions of rubles. I consider it inappropriate to stop at a separate office today,” Parakhin replied.

Sergei Elesin noted that with regard to the most pressing problems of the city, such as garbage collection, transport accessibility, cleaning streets from snow and dust, the trend is worsening every year, and the number of requests on each issue is growing.

“The fair team today does not see the future of the city of Orel while Mr. Parakhin is in office,” the deputy said.

In addition, he raised the issue of uninterrupted access of city council deputies to the regional government. According to Sergei Elesin, this is necessary in order to defend the position of the city in the regional government and help the administration. He expressed his opinion to the chairman of the City Council.
