The prosecutor’s office intervened in the case.

As the department explained, in April last year, 77-year-old Yaroslavna transferred more than 1 million 300 thousand rubles to the account of an 18-year-old resident of Stavropol. The woman did not know him; there were no grounds for a voluntary transfer of money.

“By virtue of the provisions of Article 1107 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, a person who, without grounds established by law, other legal acts or transaction, acquired or saved property at the expense of another person, is obliged to return to the latter the unjustifiably acquired or saved property.”– said the prosecutor’s office.

But the pensioner never received her money back. As a result, a statement of claim was sent to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Stavropol to recover the amount of unjust enrichment from the young man in favor of the victim. The court satisfied the demands of the prosecutor’s office of the Dzerzhinsky district of Yaroslavl. The department has placed the execution of the decision under control. In addition, a criminal case initiated in connection with the incident is currently being investigated.
