The total cost of the work exceeded 78 million rubles.

The grand opening of the socio-cultural complex took place in the village of Urik, Irkutsk region. It underwent a major renovation, which took two years as part of the regional program “Development of Culture”. The total cost of the work amounted to 78.2 million rubles, they were allocated from the regional and local budgets. IrkSib reported this on Thursday, April 25, with reference to the press service of the regional government.

“The social and cultural complex is located in an area that is actively developing. There are more and more residents in Urik every year; they were really looking forward to the completion of the major renovation. All this time, creative associations continued to work in neighboring settlements, and two new groups appeared. This is an indicator of the great demand and need for a cultural institution,” said Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region.

Specialists performed interior, façade and roofing work. The windows in the building were partially replaced, new doors were installed, the staircases and all rooms were repaired. We installed ventilation, electric heating, fire extinguishing, video surveillance, security and fire alarm systems. A new summer stage and street lighting were installed near the socio-cultural complex. The surrounding area was paved and benches and trash bins were installed. Spruce and perennial shrubs were planted along the perimeter of the building.

There are 18 creative associations operating in the socio-cultural complex – vocal, choreographic, and artistic. More than 200 residents visit them. Three groups have the title “national”. These are the Rodniki group, the Stanitsa Cossack song ensemble, and the Family pop group. In the village of Urik, a competition was announced for the name of the updated institution. Residents decided to give it the name “Star”.

Let us note that this year a new modern House of Culture was opened in the village of Khomutovo, Irkutsk region; it was built under the “Integrated Development of Rural Territories” program. The overhaul of the House of Culture continues in Oyok.
