More than 3.5 thousand people were held accountable for violating fire safety
Moscow. 25th of April. INTERFAX.RU – Using a space monitoring system and unmanned aircraft, specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation recorded fires in landscapes in 74 Russian regions, the press service of the ministry reports.
“On the territory of 74 regions this year, fires have already been recorded in the landscapes – the fire season is open in them,” the report says.
As the press service notes, department employees have conducted more than 25 thousand on-site examinations since the beginning of the year. In half of the cases, burning of dry vegetation was recorded. Moreover, in 80% of cases, landscape fires occur due to human fault.
“More than 3.5 thousand people have already been brought to administrative responsibility,” the press service quotes the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov.
On Monday, the ministry’s press service reported that since the beginning of 2024, the fire season has opened in 69 regions, and in 23 regions a special fire regime has been established that prohibits citizens from visiting forests.
The department reminds that the special fire regime strictly prohibits burning dry grass, garbage and carrying out fire-hazardous work within the boundaries of rural and urban settlements and gardening partnerships. Violation of fire safety rules in forests and in areas immediately adjacent to them is punishable by law.
