The results of the regional stage of the XIII competition of journalists and bloggers “Together into a digital future” have been summed up in the Central Federal District. The award ceremony, which took place in Kaluga, was attended by 40 representatives of the media community from 16 regions of the country. During the visit to Tsiolkovsky’s homeland, the participants visited one of the city’s residential complexes, where they got acquainted with the work of the services of the Rostelecom Key platform. Also, journalists and bloggers were the first to watch the final episode of the series “Infidels” (18+) and communicate with members of the film crew. And of course, we went on a tour to the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics.

Denis Lysov, Vice President – Director of the macro-regional branch “Center” of PJSC Rostelecom:

“The digital future is something we are realizing every day and hour. And the task of representatives of the media community is to help people make friends with smart services, to make virtual life real, comfortable, and safe. Our journalistic pool copes with this “excellently”! The number of applications submitted to the competition and the quality of work are constantly growing. The authors have become professionals in this matter, having immersed themselves in telecommunications topics, they talk about complex things as simply as possible, not in a primitive way, but with deep understanding.”

318 works from 185 representatives of the media sphere of Central Russia were accepted for the competition. Traditionally, the most popular category was “Internet Media,” with 102 applications submitted. 71 works were received from representatives of the printed press. Journalists submitted 43 stories in the “Television and Video Content in the Media” category, and eight in the “Radio and Podcasts” category. The blogging community received 37 entries in the “Social Media” category. Another 46 applications for the competition were received in three special categories – “Russian solutions for the IT industry: challenges and prospects” from the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, “Satellites for people” from the federal satellite communications operator RTCOMM and “Cyber risks in the children’s environment” from the Alliance for the Protection of Children in digital environment. These works will be evaluated by a federal jury.

Olga Boldyreva, Chairman of the Kursk Region Union of Journalists, member of the regional jury of the competition:

“The digital environment is increasingly replacing services in which personal communication was important. It is well known that Russia has a fairly high level of development of online services. Journalists are a kind of conductors between IT technologies and people, clearly, clearly and briefly explaining the mechanism of the virtual space. Moreover, the fate of a particular project often depends on the qualified assessment of media representatives. I wish each participant in the competition to be an interested and qualified user who is ready to understand the pros and cons of digitalization with professional meticulousness.”

The winners of the regional stage of the competition were:

“Print mass-media”

“Television and video content in the media”

“Radio and Podcasts”

“Internet media”

“Social media”

Alexandra Savelkina, journalist, blogger, winner of the regional stage of the competition in the “Internet Media” category:

“I thank the competition jury for highly appreciating my work! For two years I participated in the competition as a print journalist, and this time I applied as a blogger. My family channel is four years old, in my publications I talk about what worries the parents of a seven-year-old daughter. And, of course, the digital future is one of the most pressing topics. Children, it seems, are more likely than us adults to communicate with artificial intelligence in everyday life, are actively involved in the Internet environment, and cannot always understand the risks and benefits of this new, amazing world. Therefore, I wanted to tell readers, using the example of services used by first-graders in an ordinary rural school, how quickly the world is changing, what benefits can be derived from the new reality and why they should not be afraid of it. I am sincerely pleased with the victory and grateful to Rostelecom for its attention to such important topics.”

The winners of the regional stage, who took first place in the main nominations, advanced to the second, federal, stage of the competition, the results of which in five nominations and three special categories will be summed up in Moscow in June.

The winners of the federal stage—participants who took first place in the main nominations and winners in special nominations—will visit Baikonur in September and witness the launch of the Russian manned spacecraft.
