Residents of the Tyumen region who know the name of their relative, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, but do not have a biography or information about his exploits, can use the “Memory of the People” website. Essentially, it is a digital archive of military documents.

The Russian Ministry of Defense continues to replenish the resource with new information, Galina Valueva, head of the executive committee of the Immortal Regiment of Russia, said at a press conference.

– We often receive applications, requests to find a veteran. Over the past two or three years, the Ministry of Defense has been very actively digitizing materials and posting them on the “Memory of the People” website. That is, if you visited this site for a long time and could not find your great-grandfather, then I advise you to go now, maybe in the next few days, and keep an eye on it. A lot of materials are being digitized, and new documents are being added. These are combat leaflets, a combat path, and award documents, – Galina Serafimovna said.

Let us remind you that this year the central headquarters of the Immortal Regiment of Russia decided to abandon the traditional procession in columns on May 9. However, the organizers offered many other options for participating in the action, the main of which is to attach a portrait of a front-line soldier or home front worker to the rear or side window of a car. In addition, Tyumen Cossacks will join the action – they will carry portraits on horseback.
