The All-Russian campaign “George Ribbon“, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
This was reported by the regional ministry of youth policy, the press service of the head of the region reports.
Today, volunteers began distributing St. George ribbons in the Kirov park in Irkutsk, handing them over, the participants of the action talk about the origin and meaning of this symbol of military glory and how to wear it correctly. In total, it is planned to distribute more than 81 thousand St. George ribbons throughout the municipalities of the Irkutsk region; 42 municipalities will take part in the action.
The regional Ministry of Youth Policy also talked about holding the “Immortal Regiment” – this year the event will not take place in person. This was announced on April 23 by the executive secretary of the Search Movement of Russia, co-chairman of the central headquarters of the all-Russian public movement “Immortal Regiment of Russia”, State Duma deputy Elena Tsunaeva.
– This year we invite residents of the region to take part in the “Immortal Regiment” in other formats. For example, in an online format by posting photographs and biographies of veterans on their pages on social networks, or by applying portraits of heroes to clothing or personal vehicles. We will send proposals to municipalities to put portraits on municipal transport,” noted the Deputy Minister for Youth Policy of the region Irina Avdeeva.
In addition, from May 3 to 9, the “Wall of Memory” event will be held at the Youth House, where an information banner will appear telling about the participants of the Great Patriotic War. The Ministry of Youth Policy of the region calls on residents of the Irkutsk region to create their own “Memory Walls” in various social institutions, organizations, and enterprises.
A number of other events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will also be held in the Angara region. So, on April 26, for the sixth time, the international historical event “Victory Dictation” will be held in our country. To write a Victory Dictation in Irkutsk, you need to register on the website dictantpobeda.rf and select a platform for writing it (or complete tasks online).
Also on April 30, the “Windows of Victory” campaign will be held at the Youth House, the participants of which will decorate the windows of the building with drawings, stencils, and photographs dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This promotion is being implemented with the subsequent posting of photographs of decorated windows on social networks with the hashtag Windows of Victory. Anyone can take part in the action on April 30 at 11:00 in the Youth House (December Events Street 102/1), or by decorating the windows in their home.
In addition, the “Red Carnation” campaign started in the Irkutsk region. Every year, Victory volunteers distribute the “Red Carnation” badge in the region. Funds from purchased badges are used for medical care for Russian veterans: medicines, wheelchairs, hearing aids, prostheses and much more. The promotion will last until June 22, 2024.
The international event “Candle of Memory” will be held on Victory Day, during which residents of hero cities and cities of military glory throughout the country will create fire installations. The fire paintings are dedicated to the regions’ contribution to the Great Victory, and the candles are a tribute to memory. In Irkutsk, such an event will take place on the square near the Youth House.
On May 11, 2024, the “Victory Garden” event is planned, the purpose of which is to plant trees in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War. The “Good Deeds Movement” campaign is being implemented from April 20 to May 9, 2024, within the framework of which volunteers provide targeted assistance to people, make crafts, help animal shelters, conduct cleanup days, as well as educational work and classes in their educational organization.
