The Tambov prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit against the region’s correctional institutions

In correctional institutions of the Tambov region, the regularity of laboratory testing of the blood of HIV-infected prisoners was violated. The Tambov prosecutor’s office came to this conclusion in the course of its supervisory activities. Do I need to add what the negligence of the PS threatens?

To eliminate the violations and protect the rights of prisoners, a specialized prosecutor filed an administrative claim with the Tambov Regional Court. He asked the court to impose on the management of correctional institutions the obligation to promptly conduct laboratory tests of the blood of convicts, as required by federal law.

The prosecutor’s claim was satisfied by the appeal ruling of the Tambov Regional Court. The judges ordered the correctional institution to enter into an agreement with the municipal health care organization, according to which the necessary research will begin.

The court decision must be executed by September 2025. The prosecutor’s office will monitor its implementation.
