The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after a man fell from the second floor of the renovated clinic No. 1 on Lenin Avenue in Tomsk. There are no suspects yet.

The incident happened on March 21. The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that on Lenin Avenue, 51, a man fell from the second floor while carrying out repair work. The victim was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the emergency hospital. The regional health department reported that the man’s condition is assessed as serious. The man has been in a coma since his admission to the hospital.

The police initiated an investigation into the man’s fall from the second floor, and subsequently reported that the materials had been transferred to the investigative authorities for a decision.

On April 25, a representative of the regional Investigative Committee told vtomske.ru that after an inspection, investigators opened a criminal case. It is being investigated by the Kirov region department.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – violation of labor protection requirements committed by a person entrusted with the obligation to comply with them, if this negligently resulted in the infliction of serious harm to human health.

A criminal case has been opened based on the fact; according to a representative of the department, there are no suspects.

Clinic No. 1 is located at Lenin Avenue, 51, Tomsk. It has been undergoing major renovations since the end of last year. The work is being carried out by SKIT-93 LLC under a contract for 105.3 million rubles. During repairs, only workers should be in the building; patients were distributed to other institutions.

The day before, the regional administration reported that the contract for the second stage of the hospital’s overhaul was concluded with the same company – SKIT-93 LLC. 97 million rubles were allocated for the work. “With these funds, the builders will repair the interior, all engineering systems, including heating and ventilation, will replace window frames,” said Elena Peretyagina, chairman of the regional committee for the protection of cultural heritage sites.
