The Novgorod District Court, with the participation of a representative of the Veliky Novgorod Prosecutor’s Office, issued a guilty verdict against the former head physician of the Novgorod Ambulance Station. The court found the man guilty of fraud committed using his official position.
The court found that from April 2017 to March 2019, the chief physician of the Novgorod emergency medical service station included false information in his quarterly report about the speed of arrival of teams to emergency calls, ensuring compliance with the established regulations of 20 minutes.
Subsequently, on the basis of this document, the commission of the regional Ministry of Health made a decision on quarterly bonuses to the head physician. As a result of such deception, the Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund of the Novgorod Region suffered damage in the amount of over 230,000 rubles.
The defendant did not admit guilt in committing the charged crimes.
However, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced the Novgorod resident to 2 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years with deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities in state and municipal budgetary institutions for the same period.
