An order has appeared on the website of the Omsk administration to stop the movement of all types of transport for the preparation and holding of festive events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
Street closures in the city center will begin on May 7, when the parade rehearsal will take place on Cathedral Square. On this day, from 15:00 to 24:00, Kommunisticheskaya Street will be closed in the area from the Red Path to Pevtsova Street. From 19:30 to 24:00 it will be impossible to drive on the following streets:
– Lenin (on the section from Victory Square to Internatsionalnaya Street);
– Cathedral Square;
– Bankovsky Lane (on the section from Pevtsova Street to Cathedral Square);
– Ivan Alekseev (on the section from Cathedral Square to Krasin Street);
– Tarskaya (on the section from Lenin Street to Krasin Street).
From 20:00 to 24:00 the following streets will be closed to traffic:
– Red Path (on the section from Frunze St. to Internatsionalnaya St.);
– Chapaeva (on the section from Pevtsova St. to Krasny Put St.);
– Kommunisticheskaya (on the section from Pevtsova St. to Krasny Put St.);
– International (on the section from Krasny Put Street to Herzen Street);
– Ordzhonikidze (on the section from Frunze St. to Internatsionalnaya St.).
Directly on Victory Day, May 9, from 7:00 to 13:00, the streets will be blocked for the ceremonial formation of the Omsk garrison troops:
– Red Path (on the section from Frunze St. to Internatsionalnaya St.);
– Chapaeva (on the section from Pevtsova St. to Krasny Put St.);
– Kommunisticheskaya (on the section from Pevtsova St. to Krasny Put St.);
– International (on the section from Krasny Put Street to Herzen Street);
– Ordzhonikidze (on the section from Frunze St. to Internatsionalnaya St.);
– Lenin (on the section from International Street to Victory Square);
– Cathedral Square;
– Bankovsky Lane (on the section from Pevtsova Street to Cathedral Square);
– Ivan Alekseev (on the section from Cathedral Square to Krasin Street);
– Tarskaya (on the section from Lenin Street to Krasin Street).
To bypass blocked areas, Omsk residents are advised to use Frunze, Herzen, Bulatov, Gusarova, Pevtsov, Partizanskaya, Shcherbanev, Lenin streets, as well as Victory Square.
