One of the worst enemies of humans and plants was found in the Samara region. This is ambrosia tripartite.

Quarantine weed is a strong and very aggressive allergen. It also depletes and dries out the soil, displaces meadow grasses and cultivated plants, contaminates crops, and also spoils the taste of milk.

Three-part ambrosia was discovered by specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for the Saratov and Samara regions. They carried out phytosanitary control of sunflower collected in three districts of the 63rd region, which were going to be exported. Three batches, located at the following addresses, did not pass phytosanitary control:

  • Kinel-Cherkasy district, Volnaya Solyanka village;
  • Kinelsky district, Georgievka village;
  • Sergievsky district, urban settlement Sukhodol.

    The total weight of products that do not meet phytosanitary quarantine safety requirements was 3,300 tons“, said specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor Office.

    These lots will not be returned to their owners. They will be sent to a facility that uses technology to de-viable quarantine weed seeds for processing.

    The spread of ragweed pollen in the Samara region is not yet predicted. But there is another, no less aggressive allergen that can make Samara residents who are susceptible to hay fever feel unwell. This is birch pollen. High concentrations of the allergen in the air are expected in the coming days.
