Floating, light and sound, non-working. What fountains and where will open the summer season in Ulyanovsk

On May 1, the fountain season will open in Ulyanovsk. A correspondent for ulpravda.ru found out where to feel cool in the city heat and admire the play of light in drops and streams of water.

Now in Ulyanovsk there are about two dozen fountains. True, not everyone will earn money in the 2024 season.

“On May 1, more than a dozen fountains will start operating in various parts of Ulyanovsk,” the press service of the city administration clarified to ulpravda.ru. – The lion’s share is in the central part of the regional capital. Thus, two fountains will flow on the New Venets Boulevard, in the squares named after Yakovlev and Ekran, in the park named after Matrosov. The “Girl” fountain, beloved by many Ulyanovsk residents, installed in the Vladimir Garden park, will also work. And let’s not forget about the unique light and music fountain, which for several summer seasons has been gathering thousands of guests on Lenin Square: some come here as spectators, but many, mostly young Ulyanovsk residents, become active participants in the fountain performance.”

Also in the central part of Ulyanovsk, three new fountains will open in Theater Square.

“But on May 1, these new fountains, unfortunately, will not work,” the mayor’s office admitted to us. – The fact is that when checking their readiness, several comments arose. They will soon be removed by the contractor, and after that the fountains will be turned on. Most likely this will happen in early summer.”

But two old fountains that delighted residents and guests of Ulyanovsk in Soviet and early Russian times, alas, are not yet ready for work. This refers to the fountain on Goncharova Street, near the Central Department Store, as well as the fountain near the Memcenter.

“Both fountains are not the property of the city, therefore the organizations that own them are responsible for their fate” – the owners of the Central Department Store and the management of the Lenin Memorial, the Ulyanovsk administration explained to us.

According to information from our sources, the current owners have plans to sell these architectural objects.

In Zasviyazhye – floating, in Kindyakovka – standard

Fountains will operate in the new summer season in other areas of Ulyanovsk. For example, in the Zheleznodorozhny district there are fountains in the Vinnovskaya Roshcha park, near the Sovremennik cinema and concert complex and next to the Universam stop.

There is a whole scattering of fountains in Zasviyazhye. Floating fountains will delight citizens in Sviyag, in the area of ​​the Automotive Technical School, as well as opposite the Aquamall shopping center and the embankment of the Aquamarine microdistrict. There is also a fountain in the Family Park.

In the Zavolzhsky district, a fountain was installed on the main square for celebrations of residents of the New City – Ulyanovsky Avenue.

We are waiting for May 1st to enjoy the beauty of the fountains throughout the summer season. As the Ulyanovsk administration assured us, the operation of all city fountains is planned until October 1.
