In Rostov, over a thousand citizens signed an appeal to President Putin. The head of state is being asked to save the Left Bank Grove from deforestation.
“You have repeatedly demanded that law enforcement agencies and officials at various levels eradicate corruption and act in the interests of Russian citizens,” says the appeal, which was signed by more than 1,100 Rostovites.
People described the history of the grove to Putin in detail. This is the only green corner in the area, which they now want to destroy.
“Construction of other large residential areas is being carried out more than 300 meters from the shore. And here city officials give away the most delicious piece of land under the grove to their confidants, as if there were few other places where there were wastelands,” the appeal says.
Rostov residents doubt that after the construction of an elite residential complex, the area next to the Voroshilovsky Bridge will be accessible to all citizens – as, by the way, is required by legislation in the field of water bodies.
There is a risk that the Don bank will become a “home area”, and instead of the promised landscaping, the city will receive frail twigs that will die without watering.
Rostov residents believe that the decision to develop a grove on the banks of the Don cannot be legal. As well as the decision of officials to simply donate the land to the developer, and not sell it at auction and earn a billion for the budget.
“Help us! Give the command to the insatiable officials to stop tormenting their hometown, destroying the green island to line their pockets with money! And we ask you to instruct the Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to check the unruly lawbreakers,” the Rostovites called on Vladimir Putin.
